This morning, violin virtuoso Dejan Bogdanovich had his first rehearsal of the formidable Tchaikovsky Concerto for Violin and Orchestra op. 35. It was a stunning performance, dazzling in its technical virtuosity and dynamic sensibility. A resounding round of applause by the musicians of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of the Festival‘s Artistic Director Joseph Vella, greeted the performer at the end of the rehearsal. A second rehearsal will be underway this afternoon in preparation for tomorrow’s inaugural concert of this year’s 16th edition of the Victoria International Arts Festival.
