Duo Lentia was formed in 2015 when during their studies, Simon Matters and Luke Hebenstreit met at the famous Bruckner University, Linz. As a Duo, their artistic interest lies mainly in performing not only traditional duo violin repertoire but to also engage with contemporary music.
Simon Mattern was born in Linz in 1997 and started studying the violin at the precocious age of three. He is particularly interested in combining genres through all musical periods. He performs both as a soloist as well as in chamber formations, and currently teaches in major music schools.
Lukas Hebenstreit was born in St Pōlten in 1996 and commenced his violin studies at the age of five. Following postgraduate studies, he obtained excellent marks for his Masters degree and is currently studying Musicology at the University of Salzburg.
