Tomorrow we are having a vocal recital by one of Malta’s leading mezzo-sopranos, Clare Massa, accompanied on the piano by well-established pianist Caroline Calleja. We are in for a rare treat in that the programme includes the demanding yet wonderful song cycle by Schumann Frauenliebe und Leben, de Falla’s fiery and passionate Siete Canciones Populares Españolas topped up with the supreme elegance of two of Poulenc’s songs.
